Keep Me in Stitchez
My love of fibre arts started with a teacher bringing her table loom into my grade 1 classroom. I then started weaving and selling potholders. At age 9, my mom taught me to crochet and my grandmother taught me how to knit. I entered my first afghan into the Haliburton County Fair the following summer. My nickname was “granny” in high school because I was always knitting something on the bus. I am a graduate of the Fibre Arts Program from the Haliburton School of Art + Design. It was there that I learned of my love of spinning yarn. I am currently enrolled in the six-year spinning certificate program from the Ontario Handweavers and Spinners. Spinning is my passion, along with crocheting and knitting. I am learning how to weave. I am a single mom to an amazing boy. Another passion is dogs. I am also a pet sitter.
