rosbilt TinCan Banjo/Ukulele — Other
rosbilt was started in 2006 by Ross Stuart (the ‘Ross’ in ‘rosbilt’) to create a durable, virtually indestructible ukulele. The popularity of the instrument lead to an expanded line of stringed metal instruments that are unique, musician quality and made to be played – by people who like to play! The workshop has moved from Toronto to the Kingston area to an expanded workshop space. for greater productivity and increased innovation for the years to come.
My workshop is in the backyard, very small, (12’ x 8’) and most of the larger tools, such as the bandsaw, mitre saw, table saw and lathe are outside under rubber sheets.
All of the finished product is constructed by myself, except for the initial tin, strings and tuners . I spin my own resophonic cones and have adapted it for use with the lightweight tins.
