Moth Jewelry — Visual Art
Leslie is the designer and creator of Moth Jewelry. She attended the four year program at Ontario College of Art and Design for Interdisciplinary Studies in TO. Her main area of study was in silversmithing and 3D Design. After graduation, Leslie was hired as a Silicone Lab Technician at Otto Bock, creating passive, hand sculpted, color matched prosthetics for amputees. During her studies at OCAD, and while working in the lab, Leslie ran her own small business as a freelance Henna Artist. She held the exclusive contract, touring for eight years in the U.S. and Canada, with Ozzy Ozborne on Ozzfest. Leslie moved from TO to Muskoka in 2006, and opened Moth. The inspiration was born in Leslie’s childhood summer playground, Muskoka. Always an explorer,Leslie picked up a few spools of waxed linen on her travels, and brought them to her studio. Soon it became her main medium, because of it’s durability.
