Kul Werks — Other

Kül Werks began as an idea for partners Mindi and Marko Ferkül soon after they met in art school in 1981. In 1995 their design-driven concept came to be fully realized. They had, by then, numerous years of commercial art, corporate and retail business experience between them. Mindi and Marko took their idea and experience and pioneered an approach to candle design and production that remains as unconventional as it does appreciated by their customers.

They continue fusing current and classic elements from interior/industrial design, art & architecture or aspects of fashion and nature into their designs. The result is a diverse, award-winning, stylish collection of functional home décor.

Kül Werks is truly unique in their class and continue to garner accolades from customers and colleagues alike. Their acclaimed concept has been unmatched by candle manufacturers, large or small, and is praised by peers within both candle and artisan communities. They have been featured in numerous national home décor magazines, newsprint and television media.

Kül [cool] is derived from their European surname, Ferkül. They began their career in Toronto, then relocated the Niagara Peninsula.

Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of their pieces, their work cannot be found in stores anywhere, and is available at their shows exclusively (not even on-line).

Each year, they introduce fresh, new designs and colours, that excite old and new customers. The responses are rewarding, as some travel a great distance to see them, and share personal stories that are truly appreciated.
